FAQ

Questions buyers actually ask.

Straight answers on minimums, prices, samples, lead times and shipping — the things most factories make you email about.

Ordering & minimums

What is your minimum order quantity (MOQ)?
Private label production starts at 300 pairs per design and colorway. Wholesale orders from ready collections start at 300 pairs. Want to test quality first? Order a sample box from the shop — no MOQ at all.
How much do custom socks cost per pair?
Typical FOB unit prices range from €0.55 to €1.90 per pair depending on material, needle count, construction and volume. Cotton crew socks sit at the lower end; terry-lined thermal, bamboo and heavily patterned jacquard at the higher end. The instant quote tool gives you a range for your exact spec in 30 seconds.
Can I mix sizes and colors within the MOQ?
Sizes: yes — the 300-pair MOQ can be split across a standard size run (e.g. 35-38 / 39-42 / 43-46). Colors count as separate colorways because each requires its own yarn setup, but for repeat customers we can often split an order across 2 colorways (e.g. 50+50) once the knit files exist.
Do you work with startups and first-time brands?
Absolutely — a large share of our private label customers started with their very first 300 pairs at Vargel. We provide extra design guidance, realistic packaging advice and honest feedback on what sells.

Sampling & design

How long does sampling take and what does it cost?
Your first sample is completely free and ready in 2–7 days after design approval — you only cover courier shipping. Most factories charge €25–60 per sample; we don't.
I don't have a tech pack — can you help with design?
Yes. Send a sketch, a reference photo or even a mood board. Our design team prepares knit-accurate digital mock-ups with yarn and color suggestions before anything is knitted.
Can you knit my logo into the sock?
Yes — jacquard logos are knitted directly into the fabric. We also offer embroidery and anti-slip silicone printing (great for trampoline/yoga socks). Very fine gradients don't knit well; we'll always confirm feasibility with a mock-up first.
Can you match my brand's Pantone colors?
We match to the closest available yarn color from certified spinners; for large volumes, custom yarn dyeing to Pantone is available (adds ~2 weeks and a dye-lot minimum).

Production & quality

What is the production lead time?
Standard orders ship within 14–30 days after sample approval, depending on volume and season (Q3 is peak). In-stock wholesale ships in 7–30 days.
Which materials can you work with?
Combed Turkish cotton, GOTS organic cotton, bamboo viscose, merino wool, technical/performance yarns, recycled polyester, lycra and elastane. See the materials guide for an honest comparison.
How do you control quality?
Four gates: incoming yarn checks, in-line knitting inspection, post-boarding review and a final AQL-based pre-shipment inspection with a signed report. Third-party inspections (SGS, Intertek etc.) are welcome at our facility.
Which certifications do you hold?
We knit with OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified yarns and offer GOTS certified organic cotton — these certificates are held by our spinners and we share copies with your order. We are not ISO 9001 or BSCI/Sedex audited ourselves; your own auditor is welcome. Details on the certifications page.

Shipping & payment

Do you ship worldwide?
Yes — 20+ countries and counting. Production orders ship EXW, FOB Istanbul or DAP by air or sea. Online shop orders ship worldwide with tracked courier delivery, free over €50.
What payment terms do you accept?
Production: 40% deposit, 60% before shipment by bank transfer (EUR). Established partners can apply for open account terms. Shop orders: card payment at checkout.
Who handles customs and import duties?
For EXW/FOB, your forwarder handles import; we supply complete documents (invoice, packing list, COO). For DAP we deliver to your door; local import VAT/duties remain with the buyer unless agreed otherwise. For EU buyers we issue an A.TR movement certificate, which under the Türkiye–EU Customs Union lets Turkish-made socks enter the EU free of customs duty (local import VAT still applies).
Can I track my quotes and orders online?
Yes — create a free buyer account. Quote requests, sample orders and shop orders all appear in one dashboard with live statuses.
